Villa T (Vienna 2012)

With its modern twist on the traditional shape of a house, this detached house near Vienna is well integrated into the local village structure. Its site on the corner of a crossroads meant that ensuring privacy would be the main planning issue. Thus the closed facade offers protection from prying eyes. Two courtyards were carved out of a simple volume to provide the rooms facing the interior with optimal lighting through large windows. The courtyard off the living/dining area opens onto the spacious garden on the western side of the property. Entry into the house is through the courtyard on the eastern side.
